This episode, our top 7 contestants perform, and the audience will have a chance to decide who will be eliminated next week and who will make it to the top 6. Nayeb Nayab is up first, and he chooses a calm, slower song of a type we haven’t seen much of on Afghan Star. He gets mostly scores of 7s and 8s from the judges who approve of his song choice.

Next we have a performance by Hesam Farzan, after which Rishad Zahir, the son of famous Afghan singer Ahmad Zahir and himself a singer, speaks to our host Mustafa by Skype.

Anahita Olfat chooses a song by Ahmad Zahir, “Derakht-e Farvardin,” for her performance. The judges are generally positive but ask her to focus on the details of her singing style and improve those.

This week we also have a special guest, legendary Afghan singer Amanullah Amani. It is a chance for our audience and judges to pay their respects to a true star of Afghan culture.

Arash Barez wows the audience yet again with a soulful performance. Arash is in for a surprise, as the Afghan Star producers have arranged for his father to join him on stage after his performance!
